How to Add More RAM in GD Launcher
Why Add More RAM?
Increasing RAM allocation can enhance game performance and reduce lag, especially for resource-heavy mod packs.
Step 1: Open GD Launcher Settings
- Go to your GD Launcher settings by clicking the gear icon at the top right.
Step 2: Access the Java Tab
- In the settings menu, select the Java tab on the left side.
Step 3: Adjust Java Memory
- Find the "Java Memory" section. Use the slider to set the amount of RAM for the game.
RAM Recommendations:
For 8GB or less: Set RAM to 5GB - 6GB
- 5GB = 5120MB
- 6GB = 6144MB
For 12GB or more: Set RAM to 8GB - 10GB
- 8GB = 8192MB
- 9GB = 9216MB
- 10GB = 10240MB
Note: For systems with 12GB or more of RAM, setting too much RAM to Minecraft can cause more lag. Stick to the recommended ranges.
