How to Allocate More RAM in Curse Launcher
Why Allocate More RAM?
Allocating more RAM can improve performance and reduce lag in Minecraft mod packs, especially if they are resource-intensive.
Step 1: Open Curse Launcher Settings
- Go to your Curse Launcher settings by clicking the gear icon at the bottom left.
Step 2: Access the Minecraft Tab
- In the settings menu, select the Minecraft tab on the left side.
Step 3: Adjust Allocated Memory
- Find the "Allocated Memory" section. Use the slider to set the amount of RAM for the game.
RAM Recommendations:
For 8GB or less: Set RAM to 5GB - 6GB
- 5GB = 5120MB
- 6GB = 6144MB
For 12GB or more: Set RAM to 8GB - 10GB
- 8GB = 8192MB
- 9GB = 9216MB
- 10GB = 10240MB
Note: For systems with 12GB or more of RAM, setting too much RAM to Minecraft can cause more lag. Stick to the recommended ranges.
